The juxtaposition symbouleutikon being used for encouraging and discouraging change shows how versatile it can be. Winston Churchill used a metaphor in his 1941 address: "I have been in full harmony all my life with the tides which have flowed on both sides of the Atlantic against privilege and monopoly." Churchill uses a metaphor to compare his economic life with that of the ocean's tides. 10: I can use rhetoric to persuade someone by giving them evidence on why my idea should work, showing my credibility, or by convincing them it is the moral thing to do.
